Moose typically thrive in forest habitat specific fo the northern Rocky Mountains. These large animals can range in size from 800 to close to 2,000 pounds, and stand nearly 6 feet tall. 
 
Climate change, drought, and resulting ecosystem shifts in recent years have pushed more wildlife out of their normal ecosystems. In September 2023, a bull moose was found wandering near the city center of Santa Fe, New Mexico - the furthest south a moose has ever been spotted in the state. 
 
Santa Fe community members affectionately named the moose "Marty" before the moose was carefully and safely relocated to a more natural grazing range up north. 
 
This Marty the Moose amiguruni plush commemorates this unusual moment. The moose is approximately 5" in length, and features embroidered eyes and nostrils, making it safe for children of all ages, including infants, to play with. It is also stuffed with upcycled polyfil and made from 100% cotton yarn, making it eco-friendly.
